Chelsea Jaensch (pic) has joined Brooke Stratton in qualifying for the Rio Olympics long jump.

For the first time since 1984, Australia is likely to have more than one woman contesting the long jump at an Olympics.

Queenslander Chelsea Jaensch met the qualifying mark of 6.70m at the Canberra Track Classic on Saturday, joining Brooke Stratton, who smashed her personal best with a 6.94m.

Stratton had already qualified for Rio a fortnight ago in the nation's capital, but her new PB - achieved with no tailwind - pushes her to second on the Australian all-time list.
