Luke Mathews has guaranteed himself a spot on the Australian track and field team for the Rio Olympics with a powerhouse victory in the 800m at the national championships.
Mathews, 20, surged home to win in one minute 46.20 seconds.
The race opened up for the Victorian when fellow contender Josh Ralph fell midway through the opening lap.
Morgan Mitchell also booked a position on the team for Rio after winning the women's 400m in 51.84.
London Olympics finalist Steve Solomon was a commanding winner of the men's 400m in 45.50 - just one tenth of a second outside the Games qualifying standard.
Alex Hartmann and Melissa Breen won the 100m national finals.
